Oklahoma City Wedding at the Ed Lycan Conservatory at Will Rogers Gardens | Bailey & Adam

I think it’s about time to post about my first wedding video. “First” as in the first time that I was the videographer for someone else’s wedding. My actual first was for my own wedding, but I’ll probably not show that one just yet. :)

My good friend and extremely talented wedding photographer, Lexi Hoebing, was one of two witnesses for Jess and my elopement in Colorado, and after I completed our wedding video I showed it to her. I guess it looked like I had some cinematography chops, since she asked if I’d like to come with her to shoot a wedding. So of course I said yes! That wedding happened to be some mutual friends of ours, Bailey and Adam! They are two wonderful people that were finally getting married themselves, and I was honored that they’d allow me the opportunity to record their most precious day.

I spent the better part of three months researching videography techniques, acquiring gear and equipment, and learning how to use a professional editor. When the day finally came, I had the most unusual mix of confidence and self-doubt that I didn’t know was possible. I felt completely at home behind the camera, but every few seconds I was hit with a terror that I didn’t push the record button. Fortunately that only happened a couple of times when it didn’t end up mattering.

Several weeks went by before I finally finished the video. Ultimately, when I finally showed Bailey and Adam their finished wedding film, they absolutely loved it! Bailey even recorded their first viewing for me, so I was able to witness their wonderful reaction to their film. I have to admit, I teared up multiple times during the edit, but I cried seeing their reaction. Check out their video below, and their reaction below that!
